So, I have given all of you almost a month to finally get around to watching the season finale of Doctor Who, the Christmas special, and Star Wars so I could post without feeling like a dick about spoilers.
I gave you time, dammit.
For the purposes of this post, I will just discuss Doctor Who. I'll be nice and give you stragglers a few more days before talking about all of the rumors and theories running amuck with Star Wars.
So let's talk about that season finale. I watched it in the back of a comic book shop in Collierville, TN with a bunch of people who were basically strangers to me. That said, I laughed my ass off every time he slammed the door in their Gallifreyan faces.
"Yeah MOTHER FUCKER!"
I am trying to figure out WTF they are trying to do with Clara. Her heart is stopped. She will never age until she is returned to that moment, but it is fixed in time so she still has to die, right? Then why did they send her and Me off in the other stolen Tardis? I know it was for laughs since the had some time to kill (snickers). And that Tardis is now stuck as a 1950's themed American roadside diner? How is that going to work out? I have heard they are setting it up for an American spinoff. Maybe I should troll more fansites before I actually post these so I can be better...ish informed. Ok, so he has forgotten Clara....sort of. Surely he realized she was the waitress after her face was plastered on the side of his Tardis.
And there is a NEW SONIC SCREWDRIVER????? Crap! I almost had a complete collection. I can't even find a clear google image of it.
That said, lets jump to the Christmas special. RIVER CAME BACK! It was so adorable how she didn't even recognize him for a good portion of the episode. I adored her response when they stole the Tardis!
"Well, he's never noticed before.."
And he gave her a sonic. The one I've had for a while (which is half broken, *ahem*). Is it the same one she has in the library? I mean, I know their timelines get all jankey, but is THAT how she got it? It makes some sense. But now I feel like I have to rewatch those episodes. I almost cried when he "suggested" for the restaurant be built. It was just for her all of this time. :') So is River coming back? It's not like he has a companion right now, anyway.

Unless Me can regenerate, I don't see how there can be a Clara/Me spinoff.. Masie Williams is tied up doing that Throne Gameshow(Spin the wheel and see who we kill!).
ReplyDeleteThat said, they are about due to attempt another spinoff. Torchwood and Sarah Jane Chronicles were both hits... although I am still waiting on the Doctor's Daughter to make a reappearance.
I've always felt that there was so much River left to tell. SHE could have a spinoff-- her adventures with an occasional Matt Smith cameo. Hmmm.
And Missy seems to have disappeared as well.. wonder what shenanigans she is up to.
I agree with all of that. I feel like they are saving the Doctor's Daughter for when the show starts going pear shaped again.
